Dr. Richard Gorrie is Associate Director responsible for Educational Technology Research, Development & Integration with Open Learning and Educational Support (OpenEd) at the University of Guelph. In this role, he helps develop educational technology strategies for Open Ed and oversees a wide-ranging team of analysts, developers, technicians, administrators and eLearning specialists, well-known for their excellent work in the areas of teaching and learning technologies.
An EdTech expert in his own right, Richard has developed innovative projects and conducted learning research at the University, both on a national and international level. He has delivered keynote addresses on Universal Instructional Design, eportfolios, learning outcomes assessment and numerous aspects of integrating learning technology into sound teaching practice. Before coming to Guelph, he worked as an award-winning video producer/director and developer of learning materials. Richard has also been a sessional lecturer in History, that provided him with that unique perspective on learning reserved for those who teach.
